Sandford Learning Cascade team were very happy to attend The National Civil War Centre for the Heritage East Midlands Forum Meeting. What a location! We were particularly excited by the handling tools and costume on display, which made for great learning resources.
The interactive map of battle sites was also particularly interesting; it’s great to see projection being used imaginatively to inspire audiences and to help build a narrative of the historical context.
Whilst in Newark Sam also followed the National Civil War Trail App which led to Newark Castle and St Mary Magdalene church – another great layer for user experience beyond the site, connecting interesting historic event sites in Newark through augmented reality.
Great to see the heritage learning of a wonderful museum connected to the wider history of Newark as a historical site, we only had a few hours but could have done with more.
